I love a roomy tote! This Fika Tote was so fun to sew up. I love the variety of fabrics that make up this tote, and it was a pleasure using Driftless for making this sample!

I think some folks might be intimidated to start a large tote like the Fika. There are quite a few pieces, but I think if you take the steps in small chunks you’ll be surprised how that makes everything less stressful! There’s nothing that makes me more frustrated than to have a nice long sewing session, but at the end finding myself tired and just not ready to tackle any more steps. Resist that temptation to push yourself, even a short 30 minute break for a snack does wonders. Also, going to bed instead of those late night sessions and waking up refreshed the next day is really a thing!

The Fika Tote is one of my favorite ways to feature a favorite fabric, do you sense a theme here? I really enjoy giving fabrics the spotlight they deserve and I am biased, but I think this one is a good opportunity for that!

I paired my Lily print with the ‘wrong’ side of Indigo Denim 8 oz. fabric and it just is so dreamy! Lovely to sew and not too bulky either! The lining is my Algea print which is such a nice petite design that I think is lovely in this application.
