The Marc Jacobs Bag I’m Digging: The Snapshot

I recently reviewed my Marc Jacobs Little Big Shot, and while that bag makes sense for me right now because it offers more space, its little sister is the bag that has Marc Jacobs on bag lover’s minds again. I remember when I first saw the Marc Jacobs Snapshot, it was on Kaia Gerber, who I really love, and I fell for the bag.

The Snapshot is a very Marc Jacobs take on a camera bag; it’s small, sporty, and cool, which is the exact vibe Marc Jacobs is known for. The body of the bag is spacious without being bulky, with dimensions of 7″ L x 2″ W x 4″ H. The front of the bag has the same signature gold Double J emblem that is on my Little Big Shot, which I like as a design element. What I really love is the shoulder strap. Each bag has a detachable webbed strap that adds a casual touch and makes this bag stand out. I wouldn’t remove the strap, but you can if you choose to.

More ornate versions, like a floral print design embroidered with jewels, are also available, as well as classics like a black and white combination, so there’s an option for everyone. I really loved the pairing of pretty, toned-down colors for spring with the webbed strap, which offered a really nice juxtaposition—not too girly and not too casual. This bag is a really big push for the brand, and I’ve been told more versions of the Snapshot will be launching soon!

The bag fits more than you think, as I find many camera bags do. There are two zippers on the top that lead to separate interior compartments, so you can separate your items as you see fit (I put my most needed items together so they’re in the same place when I read into the bag). There’s an exterior slip pocket that could fit some cash or your metro card, but it’s not big enough for my phone. The leather on the exterior is a sturdy crossgrain, which makes keeping the bag clean easy. But the best part is the price. After having the Little Big Shot and seeing how well-made it is and then seeing and knowing the Snapshot is the same, there’s a great value here. The Snapshot starts at $295 via MarcJacobs.com.
