As Maximilian Davis settles into his role at the helm of Ferragamo, with each new collection, he further cements his vision for the storied Italian House. For Pre-Fall 2023, that vision is distinct, refined, and sleek. Described as ‘A Fresh Perspective,’ Pre-Fall 2023 is defined by an effortless sensibility. Sleek shapes sit alongside minimalist silhouettes and denim pieces that are inspired by American Westerns, drawing from the history of Salvatore Ferragamo, who created the cowboy boots for the 1923 film The Covered Wagon. Minute details of the era are seen throughout, like pocket detailing and belts that wrap around bags and loafers. The collection is presented in new campaign images, offering a look at bags, RTW, and more.
“I want to explore what contemporary essentials are, from denim to eveningwear. To take classic pieces in the everyday wardrobe and twist or subvert them with textures and materials that make them feel more modern, more playful, and more unexpected.” – Maximilian Davis
Casual Yet Classic
As for the bags, they are a continuation of Davis’ debut collection for the house, furthering his vision of casual yet classic. The Ferragamo Studio bag remains a staple, reinvented in a boxy new shape and presented in an array of colors and textures, fitting in nicely with Davis’ new designs. Those designs include the new House staple, the Wanda Bag, which is presented in seasonal variations, including hues of ombre and a North/South shape. The cut-out bag, a recent favorite amongst the celeb set, is a focus for Pre-Fall as well, now presented with a leather inside versus the original fabric. Davis continues to wow with his unique view of presenting classics that ring true to the Ferragamo history but still feel new and contemporary.
